Platipus Earth Anchors

Propact provides access to Platipus earth anchor solutions for projects requiring practical, load-capable anchoring in soil conditions where temporary or permanent restraint, stabilization, or uplift resistance is needed. These systems are commonly used across civil, geotechnical, utility, and site-related applications where installation efficiency, limited disturbance, and verifiable performance are important project considerations.

System Overview

Platipus’ Percussion Driven Earth Anchor (PDEA®) is a surface-installed anchoring system intended for use in a wide range of unstable or variable soil conditions. The system is designed to be rapidly installed with conventional equipment while minimizing excavation and surrounding site disturbance. Following installation, the anchor is load locked within the ground and may be post-tensioned to a project-specific load requirement.

Key System Characteristics

  • Surface-installed anchoring system
  • Rapid deployment with conventional equipment
  • Minimal disturbance to surrounding soils
  • Immediately quantifiable anchor performance
  • Suitable for temporary or permanent applications, depending on design

Applications / Industries

Platipus earth anchor systems are used across a range of civil, utility, marine, and site-related applications where restraint, stabilization, or uplift resistance is required.

Typical applications include:

  • Civil engineering and construction
  • Retaining wall and shoring support
  • Slope stabilization and erosion control
  • Pipe buoyancy restraint
  • Marine and seawall anchoring
  • Utility and other site restraint applications

Design / Project Considerations

Anchor selection, load requirements, depth, corrosion considerations, and installation method should always be evaluated based on project- specific soils, geometry, environmental exposure, and engineering requirements.

For this reason, Propact recommends that:

  • Anchor type and load requirements be reviewed against site conditions
  • Installation procedures align with the intended application
  • Testing or verification be performed where required
  • Final design and acceptance criteria be established by the Engineer of Record
